"These words are not mine": Are We Still Teaching Literature When We Use Adaptations?

Abstrakt: The article focuses on the use of literary adaptations in teaching English literature in high school. The role of English teachers in changing the perceptions of students about the value of literature is outlined. Several literary works are highlighted which include "A Tale of Two Cities," by Charles Dickens, "The Great Gatsby," by F. Scott Fitzgerald and "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," by Mark Twain.
