Abstrakt: The article presents the U.S. Congressional Research Service report "U.S. International Trade: Trends and Forecasts" dated October 19, 2012. The global financial crisis reportedly caused U.S. trade deficit to lessen from August 2008 through May 2009 but has begun to increase again as recovery started. Trade deficits are said to be a concern for Congress as they may create pressures for the government to do more to open foreign markets or to protect U.S. producers from foreign competition.
