The article analyzes the 2009 French film "L'armée du crime," directed by Robert Guédiguian, which dramatizes the story of the antifascist terrorist organization known as Francs-Tireurs et Partisans – Main d'oeuvre immigrée (Free Shooters and Partisans—Immigrant Force, FTP-MOI), led by Armenian writer Missak Manouchian, during the Nazi occupation of France in World War II. The author discusses the significance of Guédiguian's heroization of foreign-born, Communist resistance fighters in 21st-century French political culture. |
