In this article, the author focuses on the challenges faced by children of different races and ethnicities while growing in different community and further highlights several tips for teachers to take proper care of such sensitive children. He reflects on the multicultural issues faced by his former student, Kim and inquired about the impact of community difference on his teaching methodology. He mentions racial difference experienced by Kim at young age. The author mentions several tips for teacher to effectively manage ethnic students including discussions on traditional family unit, self-esteem and self-respect. INSET: COAHPERD Journal. |
