The article presents information on the historical health sciences collections and the related confidentiality and privacy laws. The impact of technological changes, nature of these collections and the qualifications of the people administering these collections are discussed. The importance of privacy officers and in-house legal counsel and the related challenges are considered. The need of strategies and solutions for compliance with the law is also discussed. |
