| Abstrakt: |
The article discusses the properties of bio-sourced sandwich materials used in marine applications based on tests by the firm Kairos and Ifremer Brest Centre in Brittany, France. Kairos and Ifremer have been focusing their tests on thermoset resins. They have also tested other materials such as flax, hemp and jute. They observed the need for more material to achieve stiffness and strength equivalent to traditional marine laminates. Some aspects affecting the materials' durability are tackled. |
