Abstrakt: In this article the author discusses academic publishing, focusing on his issues regarding the failure of for-profit publishing companies to pay academics to referee scholarly writing. The author argues that academic publishing companies, such as Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and Wiley-Blackwell, profit from the free labor provided by academic reviewers and that college teachers, faculty members, and scholars should take a stand by refusing to review works without compensation.
