The article focuses on the study on the influence of subsurface oxides (SSOs) and the methods to improve test results for surface oxide test of copper rod. It discusses the three factors that are critical to improve surface oxide testing including thickness calculation, foil testing, and deaeration. It mentions that SSOs, which can be the result of less than 100% descaling, copper cover over scale, and oxide covering of copper, result to efficiency and current density reductions. |
