Abstrakt: Oral cephalexin in doses of around 15 mg/kg produces satisfactory serum levels in ill premature babies, but there is a delay in reaching peak levels and in elimination. In four geriatric patients cephalexin serum levels were higher than levels achieved after ampicillin and the amount of cephalexin recovered in the urine was also greater. Preliminary studies have shown that cephalexin achieves adequate levels in acute inflammatory exudate, but there is considerable variation from subject to subject [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
