Human nail bed capillaries have been photographed while venous pressure has been raised to 40 mm Hg. Diameters of the loop and venular ends of the capillary were measured with a discrimination of 1·5 μ. No increase in these diameters was found with venous occlusion and there was no increase in the number of capillaries open in any given area. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
