The present research represents an evaluation of a statewide mobile program of health care delivery to older rural persons. Prom its beginnings in November, 1973, to the end of April, 1974, 2,738 individuals (mean age 69.5 years) were processed—42.7% of those examined were men; 57.3% were women. The data indicate significant incidences of high blood pressure (31.0%), heart trouble (21.9%), and eye problems (17.3%). In addition, 12.8% of the population exhibited ailments serious enough to warrant referral. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
