| Abstrakt: |
An ultrasonic system for the measurement of internal left ventricular transverse diameter in animals is described. The ventricular endocardial transducers are implanted easily and with minimal trauma via the left atrium. A tracking gate, instead of a conventional threshold detector, is used to follow the received signal. Reliable signals, including the first derivative of diameter, have been obtained in 90% of subjects. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
