| Abstrakt: | The article offers information on the article by British musicologist Charles Cudworth concerning the eighteenth-century mannerism of cadence gallante. It says that mannerism of Cudworth is being considered as highly stereotyped musical phrase with harmonic progression. It adds that the cadence gallante possess a very specific scale degree pairing in the outer voices wherein the melody descends from tonic to complete octave while bass progress in scale degrees. |
