Abstrakt: The article presents a study which compares the outcomes of naltrexone implants, oral naltrexone hydrochloride, and nonmedication treatment in preventing relapse to opioid addiction. The naltrexone implant and oral placebo (NI+OP) group is revealed to have more patients developing wound infections or local irritation. The 1000 milligram naltrexone implant is suggested to be more effective than oral naltrexone or placebo with 52.9 percent in the NI+OP group without relapse by the sixth month.
