Abstrakt: The article discusses methods for improving mathematics skills in early childhood education, specifically for U.S. children from preschool to third grade. It comments on the importance of developing math skills early in life, as well as notes the relatively poor mathematical ability of U.S. children compared to international education statistics. It addresses mathematics-based disabilities, the role of numerical abilities and number sense on future math achievement, and the need to use concrete examples of mathematical concepts.
