Abstrakt: |
Epoxy resin/layered silicate nanocomposites with various clay contents were prepared. The structural studies showed the intercalation of epoxy polymer chains into the clay galleries. The adhesion analysis of nanocomposite coating films on metallic substrates showed the excellent adhesion of epoxy-based nanocomposite coatings on iron plates, especially in lower clay loadings. According to the hardness test results, the organoclay minerals caused the increasing of the hardness of epoxy nanocomposites. The thermal properties of nanocomposites were evaluated by means of DSC and TGA analysis. The tensile and compression strengths of cured epoxy/clay systems were also investigated.
