Abstrakt:	The methanol extract of the bark of Alnus rubra showed antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Diarylheptanoid and its glycoside (oregonin) were identified as the two constituents responsible for this activity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
