Abstrakt: |
The authors present a framework in order to improve decision-making for the use of psychological and neuropsychological assessments for youth in the juvenile justice system. Included is a review of the psychological, substance use, and traumatic brain injury literature of youth in the juvenile justice system. Thereafter, key terminology related to psychological and forensic evaluations, and an overview of how juvenile justice systems are organized in the USA are discussed. Lastly, recommendations regarding psychological and neuropsychological assessments of youth in juvenile justice are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
