| Abstrakt: |
The article provides an overview of the condition of the consumer goods and retail industry in China as of July 2012. It anticipates that the fastest growth in sales of consumer goods will occur in the poorer third- and fourth-tier cities where people spend their money on consumer goods instead of necessities. It adds that the retail sales will be supported by the efforts of the government to encourage consumption, including the tightening of labour market and increases in minimum wages. |
