The article presents an overview of the convergence of radiation and immunologic cell death. It mentions the influence of ionizing radiation in enhancing the programmed cell death in cancer cells. Furthermore, the combination of radiotherapy and specific chemotherapies or immunotherapies might provide opportunities to control tumor by inducting successful anti-tumor vaccination to further improve the survival of cancer patients. |
