The article discusses the implications of China's economic growth for U.S. foreign and trade policy. It addresses challenges the U.S. faces in relation to China, including convincing China that it shares a stake in maintaining the global trading system. The view by some that China is a threat to the U.S. economy and the global trading system is considered. China's role in issues important to U.S. interests is also discussed, such as international economic cooperation and nuclear proliferation. |
