The article provides information on the economic condition of Qatar and its relations with other countries. It describes the nation's approach to regional affairs as a multi-directional balancing act as it tries to mediate regional conflicts and political disputes by engaging with Yemen, Lebanon and Sudan and some that are hostile to the U.S. It also mentions the annual growth in the nation's economy, reaching 17% in 2010 and 19% in 2011. |
