The article discusses cases of West Nile virus (WNV) disease and other arboviral diseases in the U.S. in 2011. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) received reports of 871 cases of nationally notifiable arboviral diseases in 2011. The article cites the number of WNV diseases reported from 238 counties in 43 states and the District of Columbia, the number of La Cross virus (LACV) cases from 81 countries in 14 states, and the highest incidence of LACV neuroinvasive disease. |
