Abstrakt:	The article focuses on providing guidelines to healthcare professionals for the diagnosis of various types and sub groups of Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), occurring primarily in women. It gives differences amidst TTP and other clinically overlapping diseases viz autoimmune diseases. The diagnostic criteria of TTP are thrombocytopenia and microangiopathic hemolytic anemia (MAHA). The mortality due to TTP can be reduced with the prompt delivery of plasma exchange (PEX).
