The article features Erik Postell, who mistakenly shot and killed his classmate Devin Fowlkes in the parking lot of Anacostia High School in Washington D.C. in October 2003. It describes how Postell missed a group of boys he and his friends had a fight with and hit Fowlkes instead. Possession of firearms by schoolchildren in the area is mentioned. Postell's conviction for second-degree murder and sentencing to the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services until age 21 is addressed. |
