Abstrakt:	The article reports on the performance of consumer goods and retail sector in Ireland. It states that the real gross domestic product (GDP) recovered briefly in the first half of 2011 having contracted by about 12.5% from its pre-crisis peak in the final quarter of 2007 to the final quarter of 2010. It indicates that the economic boom up to 2008 influenced changes in the retail sector with the arrival of international retailers into the country.
