Abstrakt: The global problem of tuberculosis (TB) is well recognized by the international community. As a result of promotion of Directly Observed Treatment, Short Course (DOTS), TB incidence has started to decline. Currently the STOP TB Partnership leads the initiative to resolve important issues such as TB/HIV, multi-drug resistant (MDR) TB, and strengthening of health systems through implementation of TB control. To solve the global problems of tuberculosis, the awareness of important aspects such as TB/HIV and MDR-TB must be considerably increased among both health workers and the general public in many countries. Provision of accurate information and appropriate technology is also important. It is hoped that public awareness can be transformed, leading to the necessary securing of human resources and financing to implement these control programs throughout the world.
