Tumors are relatively rare in the pediatric spinal column but still constitute a substantial portion of pediatric spinal disorders. Presentation may be very unspecific with vague symptoms; a high level of suspicion is required. Treatment guidelines are not particularly different compared to primary tumors in appendicular skeleton or those of adults. Surgery is the treatment of choice in most of the pediatric spine tumors and should not be with-held on the basis of potential complications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
