Presents a study that observed large jumps in the magnetostriction in twinned single crystals of Tb[sub0.3]Dy[sub0.7]Fe[sub1.9] for magnetic fields parallel to the crystalline direction. Method used to prepare the twinned rods; Progression in the temperature dependence of the magnetization and magnetostrictive behavior; Distinct regions of both the magnetization and magnetostriction curves at high temperatures. |
