Examines the transitional behavior of pulsed direct current losses in superconducting solenoids with self-fields greater than B∗. Range of magnetic fields between the dominance of either full or partial penetration; Factor used to determine the nature of the loss mechanism; Indication of the failure of the full penetration calculations to describe the data adequately. |
