Abstrakt: The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate changes in body mass, selected hematological and urine parameters and fluid intake during a 100 kilometer ultramarathon. Researchers evaluated 50 recreational male ultrarunners. They found that a decrease in body mass is associated with an increased running speed in ultramarathoners and that fluid intake was significantly related to running speed and the change in body mass.
