Abstrakt: Particles suspended in water move to pressure nodes in a standing wave due to the acoustic radiation force. A current problem is the interaction between direct acoustic forces on particles and viscous drag forces from acoustic streaming. The result is an apparently chaotic picture which changes with time. Here we identify some patterns in the chaos. Our objective is to identify the influence of acoustic streaming on the formation and destruction of particle aggregates in nodal planes.
