An interview with award winning playwright Silas House is presented. When asked what inspired him to write "This is My Heart for You," he says he wanted to write about contemporary Appalachian issues like equality, particularly gay equality. On the difference between playwriting and novel writing, he says that when writing a play, his job is to provide good language for the actors to create vivid characters. He adds that writing a novel is solitary while writing a play involves collaboration. |
