Abstrakt: Structural family therapy is a popular model of treatment and is used by therapists to treat a wide spectrum of family problems. Some have argued that structural concepts, such as boundaries and enmeshment, are abstract and difficult to conceptualize. This paper suggests that many structural concepts may be readily and vividly portrayed using the art therapy modality. Suggestions for utilizing art to assist in the initial and ongoing assessment process, as interventions, and at termination are suggested. Case examples are given demonstrating the application of structural concepts to family and individual drawings in the assessment and intervention process of therapy. Structural Family Therapy has been used effectively to treat families. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
