To assist supervisors in systematically examining their beliefs about psychotherapy supervision, ten substantive dimensions of supervision are hypothesized and described conceptually. The dimensions are: (1) influential, (2) symbolic, (3) structural, (4) replicative, (5) therapist treatment, (6) information gathering, (7) jurisdictional, (8) developmental, (9) identity, and (10) relationship. To demonstrate the utility of the dimensions, research and training applications are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
