Assessing Supervisory Skills.

Abstrakt: The Supervisory Skills Inventory (Lafferty, 1982) provides supervisors with a "self" and "other" assessment. It has been administered to 50 human service supervisors and 238 of their workers. Nine supervisors were reassessed 6 months later. This article discusses the data resulting from the study with a focus on the diagnosis and development of supervisory skills. The validity and value of the inventory are also discussed. Its application for supervisors in large, medium, and small agencies is highlghted. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
