Abstrakt: Boards of Directors have ample reason to reconsider the fundamental structures and methods of operation during periods of fluidity and change. The authors present the experience of one children and family services agency's Board of Directors as the Board analyzed and restructured itself. They discuss the context of the Board's decision to proceed, the organization of a task force, the collection of data on current and best practice, and the formulation of recommendations. The changes made to Board structure are listed, and a preliminary report on their impact to date, along with plans for future reassessment, are described. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
