Canadian case law research has been hampered by the lack of a single tool that is both comprehensive and easy to use. The major source, the Canadian Abridgment, had grown unwieldy, and the development of competing online services worsened the situation. The efforts of the Canadian Association of Law Libraries led to significant changes to the Canadian Abridgment and greatly improved case law research in Canada.
