Abstrakt: | From the 1950s the South Indian Dravidian Movement used feature films extensively for the dissemination of its political propaganda. Adapting itself to traditional aesthetics, religious and political sentiments, the modern medium‐with its visual potential for conveying analyses and slogans‐proved to be most efficient in reaching a public which was mostly illiterate.
