Abstrakt: Establishing accountability in community development programs has historically been difficult. A quantitative approach ignores important aspects of the community development process, while more qualitative approaches often fail to account for how community development contributed to concrete impacts. Methods of establishing accountability are reviewed. The use of interpretative technologies employed in natural resource and recreation fields is suggested as a supplemental technique for accountability purposes. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
