An account is given of an experiment to investigate the effect of the intermittent presentation inherent in a filmed display used for a coincidence judgement. Three conditions were investigated: (i) a display drawn on paper; (ii) a film of (i); and (iii) the display used in (i) viewed through a rotating shutter.
