To support the full range of educational experiences, technology must be integrated into learning at all levels. Current efforts toward this end are focusing on the exploration of potential uses of technology in education, on research and development, and on personnel training and the dissemination of information. If teachers are to learn to integrate technology into instruction, schools must provide them with training, a supportive environment for experimenting with technology, and time to pursue these activities. Examples include new applications that can enable the individualization that is needed for students with disabilities to be included in the classroom. Resources that can help special educators locate services and readings for special educators on integrating technology into school programs are suggested. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER] |
