The article examines ironic possibility that Chaim Perelam despite his claims in "The New Rhetoric," may have been unable to free himself from assumptions of a conventional rationalist model of argumentation. Perelam reportedly was a contemporary scholar who struggled to reunite philosophy and rhetoric. It is further stated that Perelam argued with Ernesto Grassi that rhetoric should not be viewed as technique of an exterior persuasion but as basis of the rational thought. |
