The article discusses a study which tested the impact of self-monitoring disposition on conformity in group versus dyadic situations. Literature review shows that conformity should be higher in three-to-six-person groups compared to dyads. Sensitivity to social cues functional in social situations may be anticipated to mediate conformity behavior in groups. Fifty volunteers from the University of Minnesota were identified from a larger volunteer pool. |
