Results of an earlier paper [R. Raspet, H. E. Bass, and J. Ezell, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 74, 267-274 (1983)] were based upon a computer code which was subsequently found to contain an error. The error affected some of the figures in the original paper and requires some modification of the conclusions. Using the corrected program, a careful study of surface wave effects on pulse propagation has been performed. Additional information about the pulse amplitude above a hard surface has been provided so that absolute magnitudes can be estimated from the calculations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
