Abstrakt: Reports on studies that raise questions about the validity of student ratings of teaching and the tendency of professors to `teach to the evaluations.' Anthony G. Greenwald and Gerald Gilmore of the University of Washington finding that easy grading professors receive better evaluations; Dr. Stephen J. Ceci of Cornell University and his experience with teaching style's impact on student evaluations and performance on exams. INSET: Project seeks to help colleges use peer review to evaluate.
