The odontogenic fibroma is a relatively rare, benign slow growing odontogenic neoplasm of the jaws, with the potential to recur after excision. It may occur either intraosseously or as a localized gingival overgrowth. On gingiva, it may be mistaken for other more common exophytic gingival lesions. This paper reinforces the importance of histopathologic examination for exophytic gingival lesions by describing a case of peripheral odontogenic fibroma occurring on gingiva in a female patient.
