The article presents a debate on the morality of using laboratory animals such as rats and mice for scientific and medical research. It mentions that after the implementation of Animal Welfare Act in 1999, animals ethics committees (AEC) scrutinize scientists using animals in research. It states that rats and mice are very crucial to find and test new drugs for human beings, and large amount of animal research is also done for the benefit of animal health, and the health of local ecologies. |
