Abstrakt: In this study it is shown that the inclusion of multiwalled carbon nanotubes in a conjugated polymer matrix results in extensive alterations in the polymer morphology. Electron microscopy studies have shown that nanotubes become coated in solution by a thick uniform polymer layer. FTIR measurements demonstrate the ordered nature of this coating. Photoluminescence spectroscopy results suggest that the polymer strands adsorb onto the tube body in a very ordered fashion and that this order is propagated through the polymer for distances of up to 55nm resulting in significantly increased polymer crystallinity.
