The article discusses the rational and goals of China's naval modernization efforts directly and indirectly related to Taiwan. It outlines the elements of its modernization efforts including military hardware acquisitions and their potential roles, missions and strategic significance. The article also presents data regarding capabilities of Chinese navy ships compared to that of the U.S. Navy and a discussion of U.S. response to China's naval modernization. |
